Each for Equal: #IWD2020
Do you know that "An equal world is an enabled world"?
The International Women's Day is an occasion to celebrate the progress made towards achieving gender equality and women's empowerment but also to critically reflect on those accomplishments and strive for a greater momentum towards gender equality worldwide.
Despite several efforts made towards achieving gender equality, large gender gaps exist in access, learning achievement and continuation, economic opportunities for women and girls. Despite progress, more girls than boys still remain out of school - 16 million girls will never set foot in a classroom (UNESCO Institute for Statistics) - and women account for two thirds of the 750 million adults without basic literacy skills.
On #IWD2020, we stand together as a united force, to speak for and advance gender equality in the world.
