TEENAGE PREGNANCY AND COVID-19.

Covid-19 has put the world on a compulsory holiday, we all are staying at home to keep safe, hence, to prevent the spread of the virus. Health workers putting their lives at risk to ensure Covid-19 patients are well treated.
We all understand the reason for the break, but at the same time, it has a positive impact on the economy, people's lives and sources of income.
Teenage pregnancy refers to female adolescents becoming pregnant between the ages of 13-19. These young females have not yet reached adulthood and the causes o f teenage pregnancy vary greatly. It could be as a result of lack of access to contraceptives, lack of Information about their Sexual and Reproductive Health (S.R.H) and rights, rape, early marriage among others. Teenage pregnancy has resulted to increased number of girls without education, Premature birth, death and many more. The compulsory break has ensured that everyone has to stay at home as a palliative measure to fight the pandemic situation in the world. However, the lockdown has also put some adolescent girls at risk of getting pregnant. Most Sources of Income of individuals is in a state of abeyance (that is interrupted). With respect to this, young girls with zero support financially might likely engage in transactional Sex for survival. Increase in the awareness of Sexual and Reproductive Health (S.R.H) information and services to young girls is a way to prevent teenage pregnancy. Girls can't fight for what they are ignorant of, as a result of this measure, girls can be enlightened and fight for their right. Protect girls from Sexual abuse, make them feel comfortable and safe at any point when they require an advise, guidance about Sexuality Education. Connect them to agencies and trusted personnel, also to educate them. In conclusion, been pregnant at a tender age doesn't mean the end of life.
